This week's NEWS

Coliform MCL public notification is painful... for everyone. Proper implementation of emergency public notification of water quality problems gets attention in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Want to use a membrane filter to comply with new EPA surface water treatment rules? How much is too much for someone to pay for meeting an MCL? How about a series of MCLs? Where there's 3500 ppb of perchlorate... there could be more. NDMA does not stand for "Not Doing Much of Anything" in California. Plus, there's lots of weird stuff about p-CBSA, PPCPs and EDs, "Geophysics is so cool," hydraulic fracturing, and the 5-year BWA.

Flavor Profile Analysis: An Analytical Method that Every Water Utility and Lab Should Have Available

Consumer acceptance of drinking water is crucial to the success of anyone serving drinking water customers. Dr. McGuire, founder of McGuire Malcolm Pirnie Environmental Consultants, led the way in adapting the Flavor Profile Analysis (FPA) method to the analysis of drinking water in 1981, and since that time it has become the "gold standard" for assessing the taste and odor characteristics of drinking water.

For more information on these services, please contact Jim Leserman at either jleserman@pirnie.com or visit mcguireinc.com/fpa.
