This week's NEWS

Water security deadlines loom and training opportunities boom! Why do I have to keep my sample results around so long? It's the law! If tempted by that garden hose on a hot day, don't drink the first flush! When my grandfather was in WWI, he didn't get no bottled water! Herculean effort made to move reservoir back into New Jersey! Acronymically speaking, EPA's endocrine disruptor testing moves forward. And, will MIAME be happy doing bioinformatics? Or should she stick to yoga?

Endocrine Disrupters
  • Federal Endocrine Disruptor Methods Validation group will meet August 18-20 in Colorado (Federal Register, July 30)
Commentary: In 1996, Congress passed the FQPA under the FFDCA and then, based on EDSTAC under the FACA, USEPA adopted EDSP working with ICCVAM and OECD's ETATF.  Now, USEPA has created EDMVS of the NACEPT!  Whew!  But it's perfectly clear... it's all about those Tier 1 screens and Tier 2 tests!  Important stuff!
