Publishing Alert: Information Collection Rule Data Analysis

After three years of work, the book entitled Information Collection Rule Data Analysis has been published by AWWA. Edited by the team of Michael J. McGuire, Jennifer L. McLain and Alexa Obolensky, the book contains 23 chapters that present analyses of the wealth of national information from the ICR data set including: 1) influent water quality parameters; 2) primary and secondary disinfectant use; 3) occurrence of DBPs and DBP precursors; 4) occurrence of microbial pathogens; and 5) treatment plant operation and design information.

This book answers a number of questions what was the ICR? What are the characteristics of plants that participated in the ICR? What are the national occurrence levels for TTHMs, HAAs, bromate and other DBPs? What are the national occurrence levels of Giardia, Cryptosporidium, and viruses? What levels of performance did the ICR plants achieve? What are the best precursor removal strategies? What can co-occurrence, surrogates, and modeling tell us about occurrence and treatment performance?

You can order the book directly from AWWA as catalogue number 90947 for $135 each (for members). Because it is an AWWARF report, subscribers may order a complimentary copy from the Research Foundation
