  • Epidemiology report on the 1998 Alpine, Wyoming E. coli  0157:H7 outbreak is published (CDC's Emerging Infectious Diseases, April 2002)
Commentary: Despite it's seemingly long-delayed publishing date, this report gives good insight into the comprehensive investigations conducted by epidemiologists and reinforces the need for GWUDI assessments of spring sources for surface water influences. The report suggests that E. coli cases may be greatly under-reported.
